Spices: Taste with Health Benefits

BY HEALTHY EATING
For a long time, there has been a perception that nutritious cuisine is bland, monotonous, and even repulsive. We all know that a salad is healthier than a hamburger, but we prefer the burger because it tastes better — at least, that's the notion. However, there is no reason for this to be the case. Any food may be made more fascinating by adding a little spice.

There will always be those who would argue that, while a grilled chicken breast has fewer calories than a family bucket of fried chicken, it does not taste as nice. While this is a question of opinion, the truth remains that perceptions are important.
However, if you marinate the chicken breast with herbs and spices, the flavour will change dramatically and be a lot more enjoyable. For a long time, there has been a perception that nutritious cuisine is bland, monotonous, and even repulsive. Even though tuna is far from tasteless, you may grow tired of having tuna salad in your sandwiches. When you add a little spice to the tuna mix, though, you'll notice that it takes on a variety of flavours that contribute very little calories, if any at all. The list goes on and on with paprika, pepper, and cayenne. If you have the stomach for it, you may add some sliced jalapenos to make it even more fascinating. And of days, grocery sauce bottles provide more than just steak sauce and ketchup – flavours like piri-piri and teriyaki are a nice departure from the ordinary.

Spices can be included into any diet, whether you prefer sweet or savoury foods. The end result is a tasty and nutritious addition. They can even boost endorphins and dopamine, two feel-good compounds in the body. This could explain why you can't seem to get rid of your spicy food addiction. Spices can also help you reduce the quantity of harmful fats and sugars you consume as a fast fix for flavour.
